What Is the Value of Thomas Kinkade Art?

As of 2015, the vast majority of Thomas Kinkade art has very low collectible or investment value. Because the majority of the art sold as work by Kinkade is art prints or reproductions, too many copies of the same painting exist for any individual work to appreciate in value.

Kinkade is best known for his bucolic landscapes and natural scenes. His work received a wide distribution through more than 300 Thomas Kinkade Signature Galleries, as well as sales through avenues such as QVC. Most Kinkade pieces are mass-produced by machine, though some are later touched up by apprentice artists. Kinkade’s death in 2012 boosted sales of his work but generally did not cause his pieces to appreciate in value.
