How Do You Use the Remote Start on a Jeep Cherokee?
To use remote start on a Jeep Cherokee, press and release the remote start button on the transmitter two times within five seconds. The vehicle’s doors lock, the parking lights flash and the horn chirps before the vehicle starts. The vehicle stays running for 15 minutes after remote start activation.
Remote start systems typically work within 300 feet of the vehicle. To drive a Jeep Cherokee after remotely starting it, unlock the vehicle using the remote control. If the vehicle is equipped with Keyless Enter-N-Go, press the start button to drive the vehicle. If the vehicle is not equipped with Keyless Enter-N-Go, insert the key into the ignition, and turn it to the on/run position. To turn off the vehicle without driving it once the remote start system is activated, press the remote start button on the transmitter once.
Before using the remote start system on a Jeep Cherokee, the doors, hood and liftgate must be closed. In addition, the hazard lights must be off, the shift lever must be in park, the key must be removed from the ignition, and the battery must be adequately charged. The vehicle must also have sufficient fuel to use remote start. Jeep Cherokees with manual transmissions are not equipped with remote starting systems.
