Generally, it is okay to use a skincare product after its expiration date. However, whether it is okay depends on certain conditions including how much time has passed, the temperature it was stored in, and the ingredients of the product, explains Skinacea.com.
If the product was stored in a less than ideal temperature, do not use it. If it contains vitamin C or is sunscreen, the product will not be as effective. If the product is dispensed not through a pump, but by the use of your fingers, bacteria may have collected, in which case toss it out. Skinacea.com explains that ultimately, check to see if the product looks suspicious, read the packaging labels, or contact your dermatologist for more information.
