What Type of Repairs Are Covered Under a Maytag Washer Warranty?
All Maytag washing machine warranties cover the costs of replacement parts and labor necessary to repair any defects in workmanship or materials that were present at the time of purchase. Maytag washing machines also come with a 10-year limited parts warranty on certain components.
This 10-year limited warranty only covers the cost of any replacement parts necessary to repair a non-cosmetic defect that occurs in specific parts located within the unit’s drive motor or wash basket, as of 2015. The drive motor warranty is limited to defects in the stator and rotor only, while the wash basket warranty only covers damage to the side walls.
The Maytag washing machine warranty is only valid for products used within the United States and Canada and only for products used in the country where they were purchased. The warranty is only valid for the original owner, who must show the original proof of purchase at the time of repair to verify that the washing machine is still under warranty.
In order to obtain warranty service, it is necessary to contact Maytag to schedule an appointment with a Maytag-designated service company. All Maytag washing machines are eligible for in-home service repair, but Maytag is not responsible for transportation costs to remote areas or when no in-home service is available.
