Laura Ingraham had early stage breast cancer. After the discovery of a small lump in her right breast, she was diagnosed in April 2005 with an aggressive type of breast cancer that required surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Radio talk show host Laura Ingraham is among the 2.4 million breast cancer survivors in the United States as of 2015, as reported by the American Cancer Society. Ingraham, however, prefers the term "thriver" over "survivor" and continues to attend and support breast cancer awareness campaigns. During an interview with Stacey Gualandi, Ingraham stated that her battle with cancer gave her a new and better perspective on life.
