Will the “Twilight” Saga Continue With “Breaking Dawn: Part 3”?

The “Twilight” saga will not continue with “Breaking Dawn: Part 3.” The “Breaking Dawn” movies officially ended with “Breaking Dawn: Part 2.”

In late 2014, a rumor circulated online that an installment to the “Twilight” series, “Breaking Dawn: Part 3,” was scheduled for release on November 14, 2015. The film was rumored to tell the love story between Renesmee and Jacob. However, the original article that started the rumor was a hoax. It was published on “Daily Buzz Live,” which is a satirical website that parodies celebrity gossip.

However, in 2012, the chief executive of Lionsgate films, Jon Feltheimer, announced that another installment in the popular series was not out of the question. The series was wildly successful at the box office, which makes it a solid asset for the company.

Stephenie Meyer has not continued the series past the four existing novels and does not plan on writing any additional sequels. Instead, Lionsgate chose to pursue a different direction. In October 2014, the production company announced that it would release five short films on Facebook based on the series, starring the original cast and featuring the talents of five different female directors. The series is called “The Storytellers — New Creative Voices of The Twilight Saga.” Other potential spinoffs could include a TV series, as Lionsgate has its own television division.
