Auto refresh is a useful function for websites that are continuously updating, such as Facebook and Ebay. To enable auto refresh in Internet Explorer, first open Internet Explorer and select the Tools menu, followed by Internet Options. In the Internet Options dialogue box that appears, select the tab labeled Security followed by the option labeled Internet Zone. From there, select Custom Level and select the option Allow Meta Refresh.
The auto refresh function automatically refreshes a web page on its own at regular intervals. Generally the auto refresh setting is not enabled by default. Some older versions of Internet Explorer do not support the auto refresh function.
