The torque and horsepower specifications for a Chevy 5.3-liter gas engine range between 310 to 326 horsepower and between 335 to 348 pounds per feet of torque. When it runs on regular unleaded gas fuel, the Chevy 5.3 -liter engine can only generate between 310 to 320 horsepower.
The Chevy 5.3-liter engine can also only generate up to 310 horsepower when it is fitted inside a GMC Yukon car that is manufactured between 2006 and 2014. To reach its maximum torque output of 348 pound-feet, the engine requires E85 Flex Fuel and must be installed inside either a Chevrolet Tahoe or Chevrolet Suburban car produced between 2006 and 2014.
