Is Tipping at Funerals Normal?

Tipping at funerals is a normal custom. It is not necessary to tip the funeral director or any of the staff at the funeral home, but tipping is customary for many of the other service providers.
Musicians or singers performing at the funeral should be tipped $50 to $75 each. A limousine driver is tipped 15 percent of the total fare, but it is important to check the bill to see whether a gratuity is already included. Flower deliveries are tipped at the rate of $2 to $5 for a normal delivery or $5 to $10 for a particularly large delivery. If the funeral includes a meal, the servers’ tip is 15 to 20 percent of the total bill.
The member of the clergy who performs the funeral service receives a tip in the form of an honorarium. This is generally in the range of $50 to $200.
