While William Shakespeare is most widely known as a playwright, there are actually three different professions that he became famous for. These three professions were all in the theater and consisted of a playwright, poet and actor.
The theater career of William Shakespeare spanned 25 years, from 1586 until 1611. Examples of some of his most famous works include “Romeo and Juliet”, “Hamlet” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. He also acted in some of his earlier works. Shakespeare’s work as a poet mostly came during the years of 1593 and 1594, as the theaters were closed due to the plague.
