TextFree is a free calling and texting app that allows users to send and receive text and picture messages in addition to calls from a dedicated phone number. TextFree works over Wi-Fi and mobile data networks.
A free account is required to use TextFree services. TextFree turns any device into a fully functional phone with the exception of emergency calling. Tablets with TextFree installed have the ability to receive messages and make calls from within the TextFree app interface as long as a Wi-Fi connection is available. A fully functional web-based version of TextFree is available at Pinger.com for Mac and PC users.
