At What Temperature Setting Should You Wash Your Towels?

White towels should be washed on the hottest water setting. Colored towels may be washed in hot water, but the color may bleed or transfer to other lighter colored towels in the load.
Towels should be washed every three to four days or as needed. Towels that are used frequently, such as hand towels in the kitchen, should be washed more often. People must not use fabric softener on towels because this can stiffen them. Non-chlorine bleach may be used on white towels if they begin to look dingy. Chlorine bleach should not be used, and towels should be dried with one dryer sheet.
