Task Force is a house brand of home improvement store Lowes and is considered to be a budget brand of tools, similar in quality to Blue Hawk and beneath Kobalt. Lowes partnered with LG Sourcing Inc. to make Task Force tools.
Lowes has a number of private brands, but its top brand of tools is Kobalt, and it was introduced in 1998 to compete with Sears' and Home Depot's private tool brands, Craftsman and Husky, respectively. Initially, the tools were made by J.H. Williams but switched to Danaher Corporation in 2003. By 2011, Lowes had moved to JS Products for hand tools, while Great Neck continued to make screwdrivers. Lowes introduced cordless power tools that same year.
