Who Makes Tappan Ranges?

As of 2014, Electrolux Home Products of North America manufactures Tappan ranges. Electrolux acquired the Tappan brand in 1979. Historically, the Tappan brand is associated with ranges and microwaves, but as of 2014, Electrolux works with several brand partners to produce a wide variety of products under the Tappan name.

Tappan began as the Ohio Valley Foundry Company, an independent manufacturer of cast iron stoves, in 1881. W.J. Tappan, the proprietor, originally sold stoves door to door from a horse-drawn wagon. The company went through several name changes and eventually began doing business as the Tappan Stove Company. The O’Keefe & Merritt Stove Company acquired Tappan in 1950, and it later became part of Frigidaire before eventually transferring to Electrolux.
