Superman is a superhero character and part of the DC Comics universe. He arrived on Earth as an infant following the destruction of Krypton and the loss of his family, and he gained his super powers from the light of the sun. Superman lives in the city of Metropolis, where he works at the Daily Planet as Clark Kent to hide his true identity. He also serves as leader of the Justice League of America. In addition to giving Superman his superhero name, Lois Lane serves as his love interest.
