Submit a video to AFV home videos through AFV.com. Click the About menu on the "America's Funniest Home Videos" homepage. Scroll down and select Frequently Asked Questions. Click How do I submit a clip to America's Funniest Home Videos? The question, a link, directs browsers to AFV.com/upload.
Choose a video and upload it to AFV.com/upload. The submission cannot be illegal, copyrighted and should not have any graphics or music. The maximum upload size is 2 gigabytes per video. AFV now broadcasts in HD and asks for the highest quality videos, such as 720x486 or 1280x720 resolution at 30 frames per second.
Acceptable video formats include MPG, WMV, XVID, AVI and MOV. Other acceptable formats are H.264, AVC and DIVX. Give the video a title, and supply a brief description. AFV reserves the right to feature eligible videos online and to enter them into its contest. People who submit a video must provide contact information so AFV can get in touch with them if their video makes it onto "America's Funniest Home Videos."
AFV also requires prospective contestants to agree to certain legal terms, such as AFV's right to edit or alter any submission at its discretion. AFV still accepts submissions by mail of home video formats, such as VHS, 8MM, Hi-8 and digital video, as of March 2015. AFV accepts home videos transferred to CD-ROM or DVD, as well as 8MM transferred to videotape, providing the videos meet broadcast and eligibility requirements.
