What Are Some Stores That Sell Colloidal Silver?

Both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine have made statements naming colloidal silver as dangerous for use. However, it is still for sale from many online retailers and stores, such as The Vitamin Shoppe and Amazon.

GNC and The Vitamin Shoppe sell colloidal silver both online and in their retail stores. Walgreens sells colloidal silver online only. Amazon sells colloidal silver through several online retailers.

According to the NCCAM, colloidal silver is comprised of silver particles within a liquid base. Colloidal silver is sold as a dietary supplement. However, the FDA and the Federal Trade Commission have taken action against groups that have made exaggerated health claims about the item. It is not an FDA approved item and exaggerated health claims are founded on the opinion that many consumers do not have adequate silver in their bodies, which in turn can cause disease. There is no scientific evidence supporting this claim.

The use of colloidal silver comes with dangerous side effects, including a build-up in the body that can lead to bluish tones in the skin. Some consumers have suffered from kidney and liver problems caused by colloidal silver, according to the NCCAM.
