What Stores Sell Brioschi Antacid?
As of March 2015, Amazon and Penn Mac sold Brioschi Effervescent Antacid online, but no stores advertised direct sales at retail locations. Penn Mac may sell the product at its Pittsburgh store, but it is wise to phone ahead to inquire. The manufacturer filed involuntary bankruptcy proceedings in October 2013.
The Syracuse Post-Standard reported in September 2011 that a local family had purchased Brioschi from its Italian owners, who had decided to cease manufacturing and go out of business after 130 years, and that the purchasers planned to move Brioschi operations from Fair Lawn, New Jersey, to East Syracuse. The purchasers perceived great appeal to environmentally conscious consumers in the product’s traditional claim to have a no-aspirin, no-chemical, all-natural composition. They believed that what they called a stepped-up, “multi-platform” marketing campaign emphasizing this aspect of the product would make it profitable again.
The Syracuse purchasers recognized, however, that financial assistance from the state and local governments would need to be in place for their plans to bear fruit. Two years after their announcement of the Brioschi acquisition and plans to relocate the business and launch new advertising, Brioschi Pharmaceuticals International filed for involuntary bankruptcy relief in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York, according to Business-Bankruptcies.com.
