What Is the Standard Pool-Table Height?
The standard pool-table height is between 29 1/4 inches (74.3 centimeters) and 31 inches (78.74 centimeters). This measurement represents the distance between the floor and the table bed of the pool table.
The playing surface of a pool table must be rectangular with a symmetrical pocket configuration. A 9-foot table must have a playing surface of 100 inches by 50 inches (2.54 meters by 1.27 meters). The playing surface of an 8-foot table must be 92 inches by 46 inches (2.34 meters by 1.17 meters). That size is without the cushions along the sides. The rail width should be between 4 inches (10.16 centimeters) and 7 1/2 inches (19.05 centimeters) including rubber cushions. The rubber cushions should be triangular and between 1 7/8 inches (4.76 centimeters) and 2 inches (5.4 centimeters). The height of the rail should be 63.5 percent or between 62.5 percent and 64.5 percent of the diameter of the ball. The mouth of the pockets is the distance between the opposing cushion noses. Traditionally, the mouth of the side pocket is 1/2 inch (1.27 centimeter) wider than the mouth of the corner pocket, which should be between 4.5 inches (11.43 centimeters) and 4.63 inches (11.75 centimeters). There should be at least 6 feet of space between the edges of the pool table and another pool table or any other obstacles.
