How Is the Standard Height Range for a Comfort Height Toilet?
Last Updated Mar 25, 2020 7:46:49 PM ET

Comfort Height toilets are 17 to 19 inches from the floor to the top of the seat. Standard toilets are less than 17 inches high. Comfort toilets are designed to have about the same seated height as a typical chair.
In conjunction with other modifications, Comfort Height toilets meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. However, these toilets are selected by a variety of people simply because they are more comfortable to use. They are easier to get on and off than traditional toilets, so many senior citizens favor them. Comfort Height toilets are also selected by households with older offspring and adults. Toddlers and children often find the height of these facilities difficult to manage.
