What Are the Specs for the Chevy Silverado Texas Edition?
The 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 Texas Edition package is available on all LT and LTZ models and adds 20-inch wheels, a locking rear differential, a trailering package and Texas Edition badges. The Texas Edition also includes mirror caps and door handles in either chrome or the truck’s paint color.
The 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT features a 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 engine with 285 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine’s Active Fuel Management system, direct fuel injection and variable valve timing achieve a 24-mpg fuel efficiency rating on the highway. The Silverado LT has a 1850-pound payload capacity and a 7200-pound towing capacity. The Texas Edition package adds 20-inch polished aluminum wheels to the Silverado LT and paints the door handles and mirror caps to match the truck’s color.
The 2015 Silverado LTZ features a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine with 355 horsepower. The LTZ delivers 383 pounds of torque per foot, has a payload capacity of 2270 pounds and a towing capacity of 9200 pounds. For LTZ models, the Texas Edition package adds 20-inch chrome wheels, chrome door handles, chrome mirror caps and a Bose premium audio system.
Chevy also offers the Texas Longhorns Special Edition for double-cab LT and crew-cab LTZ Silverado models. This package fits the truck with sunset orange metallic paint, University of Texas decals and all other features of the Texas Edition package. The Longhorns special edition also adds a spray-in bed liner and 6-inch chrome assist steps.
