How Does Someone Remove Shiny Iron Marks?

A good remedy for removing shiny iron scorch marks from fabric is to use hydrogen peroxide with ammonia. Other options for removing shiny scorch marks include laundry detergent, bleach or vinegar, but it depends on how quickly the scorch is remedied.
To remove the scorch mark, a person will need an eye dropper, hydrogen peroxide and ammonia. An eye dropper should be used to place several drops of hydrogen peroxide onto the garment. After a few moments, a few drops of ammonia should be added as well. The garment can then sit for up to one hour, depending on the severity of the stain. The item should then be flushed with water and laundered in a washing machine with oxygen bleach provided that a washing machine and bleach are safe for the garment per its washing instructions.
It is also possible to immediately remove scorch marks by applying liquid laundry detergent to the mark followed by a quick rinse in the washer. Another way to remove a slight scorch mark is to apply some white distilled vinegar to the area and pat dry. It is important to keep in mind that severe scorch and burn marks cannot be removed no matter the method attempted.
