What Is a Software Suite?

A software suite is a collection of several applications that are bundled together and sold or distributed as a package. Each component program generally provides different, but related, functionality.

A software suite provides several related programs in one software package. Also known as an application suite or a utility suite, it allows individuals and companies to buy one package to meet a wide variety of needs, all from a single trusted software source. For simplicity, a suite combines these programs within a single execution program, called an installer. Many software suite installers allow the user the flexibility to install any or all of the component programs at once. Popular software suites include Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
