The 2014 slogan for Snickers is “You’re not you when you’re hungry. Snickers satisfies.” In the 1980s, Snickers used a similar message, “Packed with peanuts, Snickers really satisfies.” The key idea that carries over into the new slogan is that this bar satisfies a person’s hunger.
Snickers is a candy bar made by Mars, Incorporated. This bar, with its peanuts and peanut butter nougat covered first in caramel and then milk chocolate, has been around since 1930. One ad in the 2014 campaign shows a zebra in pursuit of a lion, something not normally seen. The corner of the ad pictures the inside of a Snickers bar with all of its layers in focus, with a presumed goal of tempting the consumer.
