Bandanas come in a variety of sizes, but the standard dimensions are 22 inches by 22 inches. An oversized bandana is typically 27 inches on each side.

Bandanas also come in smaller sizes. A child’s bandana generally measures about 18 inches by 18 inches. A bandana intended to be used solely as a handkerchief and not worn is a 14-inch square. When worn, a bandana is typically folded in half to form a triangle. It is placed on the head, covering the entire crown with the corners on the sides and in the back. The sides ends are pulled tight towards the back and tied firmly over the back corner.
