A full-size regulation badminton court measures 20 feet in width and 44 feet in length. For singles’ competitions, the width of the court is reduced to 17 feet with a 1-foot-6-inch “out of bounds” area inside each sideline.

The badminton net spans the entire width of the court, diving it into two 22-foot sections. The net is 5 feet in height at the center. The back boundary serves as the long service line for singles. The long service line for doubles is 2 feet 6 inches inside the back boundary. The short service line is 6 feet 6 inches from the net on each side of the court.
