What Is a Single User License?

A single-user license refers to a software title’s specific installation authorization. The license terms are generally contained within an end-user license agreement and specify the details of where and how that title can be installed.

A single-user license typically grants a single person the right to install the software, often on only one computer. Sometimes the license agreement grants the single user unlimited amount of installations on any number of computers, as long as only one user actually uses the software. Other types of license agreements allow for more users, computers or installations. To use the software, users must agree to the license terms.
