How Often Should You Change a Volkswagen Jetta's Transmission Fluid?
Last Updated Mar 25, 2020 5:21:25 AM ET
While some Volkswagen experts believe the automatic transmission fluid in a VW Jetta never needs changing, others, like those at Blauparts, believe it should be changed every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Late model Jettas do not have automatic transmission dipsticks and must be checked by mechanics at a repair shop.
Those who drive a VW Jetta in extreme conditions, including hot weather or heavy traffic, or who use their Jetta to pull trailers should check the automatic transmission fluid and filter every 30,000 miles. A driver who mostly drives his Jetta on the highway can wait till the mileage hits 60,000 before checking and changing the automatic transmission fluid.
