Last Updated Mar 28, 2020 4:25:11 PM ET

There are many options for setting up your own email address. Many internet service providers provide their users with an email address with the service. Workplaces and schools also often provide email addresses. People may also choose to create an account with a webmail provider like Gmail or Yahoo Mail.
To set up an email account with a webmail provider such as Gmail, Yahoo Mail or Windows Live Mail, first go to the provider's website, and choose to create a new account. Users will need to provide their name, a unique username and a strong password.
If users have been given an email address by an Internet service provider, workplace or school, be sure to ask for the username, password and server information in order to access the account.
