How Do I Set up a New Gmail Account?
Anyone with an Internet connection and an Internet-ready device can set up a new Gmail account by visiting Gmail’s homepage and clicking the “Create an account” option just beside the “Sign In” option. The page redirects to Google Account where the user is asked to enter the standard sign-up information.
To protect its user’s privacy and prevent compromising the account, Google asks the user either to submit a mobile phone number to verify the account through text or to complete a captcha verification system. The user must also agree with Google’s terms of service and privacy policy before creating an account. A single Gmail account is all it takes to access other Google-run sites, such as YouTube, Google Plus, Google Voice and Google Apps.
