How Do You Send a Video to Another Person on Facebook?

There are several ways to send a video to a friend on Facebook, including sharing the link in Facebook Chat or Messenger, uploading the video then tagging the individual on the video or within the comments section or posting the video to the individual’s feed.

  1. Upload and post videos

To tag a friend to a video, access your profile, and click the “Photos” link to open the “Photos and Videos” page. Click the “Videos” link and upload the video from your phone or desktop, or copy the URL of the site featuring the video. After uploading the video, click the “Tag a Friend” button beneath the video, and enter the name of the friend in the “Who were you with” text field. You can post a video to a friend’s profile by visiting his/her Timeline, selecting “Photo/Video” in the posting window and then clicking the “plus” symbol to upload the video. All video attachments must be under 25MB.

  2. Tag friends in the comment section

If someone else posts a video on Facebook, tag a friend by typing the individual’s name in the comment section. After submitting the comment, Facebook notifies the friend of the post.

  3. Send links to the video

To send the link as an attachment, open Facebook chat with the intended friend, and click the gear icon to access the Options menu. Choose “Add Files,” and upload the video from your desktop. Videos can also be sent to friends by copying, pasting and sending the link as a Facebook message.
