“Hungry Heart: Wild Striker” ran for 52 episodes. Its run began on September 11, 2002. The last episode, titled “Come back soon, Kanou Kyosuke!!” aired for the first time on September 10, 2003. The show is based on a manga, or Japanese comic book, by the same name. The original Japanese title is “Hangurī Hāto Wild Striker.” It was written by Yōichi Takahashi and published in the magazine “Weekly Shōnen Champion.”
