Last Updated Apr 17, 2020 6:39:43 PM ET

SIM cards are not capable of storing pictures. SIM cards, or subscriber identity modules, are a small integrated circuit used in cell phones to identify a user to its carrier. It normally contains information like a person's phone number, user contacts and the user's voice or data plan.
As of 2014, SIM cards capable of holding text messages are also capable of holding up to 250 contacts. In addition to standard SIM cards, micro and nano SIM cards are offered by various phone manufacturers. Samsung and other Android phone manufacturers use MicroSD cards, which are different from SIM cards, to save photos and other multimedia content.
