Where Is Samsonite Luggage Made?

Samsonite luggage was made in Denver, Colorado, until 2001, when the factory was closed. After that, a change in ownership moved Samsonite to Mansfield, Massachusetts. Today, Samsonite luggage is made in Europe and China.

The Samsonite company was founded by Jesse Shwayder in Denver, Colorado. This was in 1910, and it remained in Colorado for 91 years. In 2005, the headquarters were moved to Mansfield, Massachusetts, under new ownership. As of 2015, there is a line of luggage made in Europe, but most of the company’s products are made in China, due to inexpensive labor and a decade of experience in making Samsonite luggage.
