What Are the Rules for Cornhole?
Rules for the cornhole game involve finding a flat surface on which to play, establishing a distance of 27 feet between boards, and attempting to toss the beanbag in the board’s hole. Players alternate turns, with the goal of scoring 21 points while having at least two points of separation.
The player’s feet cannot cross the front of the board and must stay within the approximate pitching box. All tossed bags must land cleanly on the board before points are awarded. Remove bags that either hit the ground, bounce off the ground and onto the board, or those that hang off the board and touch the ground. Bags that enter the hole are worth three points, while those that remain on the board after the round is played are worth one point.
After a round, the points of each opponent cancel out those of another, with the difference in points awarded to whoever had the most points. For example, if one player scores five points in a round, and his opponent scores three, then two points are awarded to the first player. Each round allows a player to toss eight bags. The first opponent to win two games claims the cornhole match.
