What Is the Return Policy at Menards?
Menards’ return policies as of 2015 are dependant on the type of item purchased, whether or not a receipt is present, and how long the return is from the date of purchase. In the case of a special order, a 25 percent restocking fee is charged.
For returns with a receipt, money is refunded in the same form as the payment occurred, with the exception of checks. Checks are refunded as store credit if the purchase occurred less than six days prior, or cash after the six-day period. Any merchandise missing the original UPC can only be exchanged for an identical product. Stock merchandise that is cut or altered in any way is subject to a 25 percent restocking fee. If the return is more than 90 days after the purchase, only store credit is issued.
Returns without a receipt require a government-issued photo ID. Refunds are issued at the lowest price offered, including discounts and rebates. Holiday and summer seasonal items cannot be returned without a receipt. Menards reserves the right to refuse returns without a receipt. Gas-powered items may be returned within 30 days with a receipt only if the product is unused and no gas has been placed in the item.
