To reset a Viper car alarm, use the key fob by pointing it at the vehicle. Wait for the alarm to sound for six seconds, and then press the lock button on the key.

A Viper car alarm system has many features, including the ability to arm your vehicle either actively or passively. It also features a High Security Disarm which allows a triggered alarm to be silenced without disarming the vehicle. It is very simple to reset a Viper alarm by using the key fob. When the alarm is going off, allow it to do so for 6 seconds. Then point the key fob at the vehicle, and press the lock button. This will reset the alarm while still leaving the car armed.

If the above method does not work, put the key in the ignition, and turn it forward all the way just before cranking. Within 5 seconds, press and hold the valet/override button. The valet/override button is located under the dash. Hold this button until the LED light is solid and the siren chirps once. This should reset the alarm. Some consumers, however, have had issues with the alarm system after replacing a battery. Contact Viper customer service if the above methods do not work.
