How Do You Reset a Remote Starter?

To reset a remote starter, thrust the key into the ignition, turn it to On mode, and long press the Valet button until the horn produces a beep sound. Long press the Valet button again, and press and release your remote’s button. Release the Valet button when the horn honks.

Bring the starter and ignition key with you to the car, and open the driver’s door while resetting the remote starter. The reset process is done after releasing the Valet button once the horn chirps.

To program a remote starter, turn on the ignition switch using the car key. Push the remote’s Control button two times, pressing the button for a few seconds the second time. Release the button once the horn beeps, indicating that the system can be paired with the remote.

Long press the remote’s function button for up to eight seconds. Check the manufacturer’s manual to find out where the function key is located as different models may have varying button setups. Release the button once the remote’s LED light turns on without flashing.
