How Do You Reset a Frigidaire Washer?

A Frigidaire washer can be reset by pressing the cancel button located on the washer’s display and turning the knob or pressing the button to select a new cycle. Pressing the start button finishes the reset of the washer.

There are a few possible reasons why pressing a reset button on a Frigidaire might be necessary. If the wash cycle is stuck in the pause stage, it may need to be reset. However, there is a normal pause that occurs between the wash and spin cycle as well as a longer pause during the soak cycle.

If the cycle selector knob is not quite in the start position, the machine may be unresponsive. The knob should be correctly positioned slightly past the start marker so pulling it out starts the machine. The door must also be completely closed for the washer to function.

Another reason the washer may malfunction is if the motor overheats. The washer’s motor stops automatically in this case and restarts on its own after a 30-minute cool-down period.

Every model of washer is slightly different, so the owner’s manual is the best place to check for reset instructions. The Frigidaire website and customer service department are other sources of troubleshooting information.
