Apply a small amount of ammonia on a clean sponge and gently rub the stained area to remove stains from vinyl seats on a boat. Rinse the area with a mild detergent and soap to remove ammonia traces.

  1. Apply ammonia on a clean sponge

Apply a small amount of ammonia on a clean sponge.

  2. Rub the stained area

Gently rub the stained area with the sponge to remove sunscreen or ink. Repeat this process until the stain disappears or until there is no more improvement. Be careful not to let the ammonia soak into the seat as this will damage the seat.

  3. Moisten the sponge with rubbing alcohol

If the stains are still not completely gone, rinse the sponge in water and moisten with a little rubbing alcohol. Rub the sponge over the stain until it disappears. Rinse the area immediately.

  4. Remove traces of ammonia

Remove all traces of ammonia from the seat by rinsing the sponge thoroughly and applying a mild detergent and soap.

  5. Wipe the seat

Rinse the sponge thoroughly and wipe the vinyl seat clean.

  6. Apply vinyl protectant

Using a cotton cloth, apply vinyl protectant to the seat once all the stains have been completely removed. Be sure to follow the manufacturers’ instructions when applying the protectant.
