To remove a Moen kitchen faucet, detach the index plate on the handle of the faucet and remove the screw that is exposed to take out the handle. Next, take out the bonnet nut that holds the faucet in its position and finally remove the faucet by pulling it out.

Before removing a Moen kitchen faucet, turn off water supply. The handle for turning off the water supply is usually located on the water supply lines present beneath the sink. Turn the handle in a clockwise direction to cut off water supply. If there is no handle to turn off water supply near the sink, cut off water supply near the water meter.

To remove the Moen kitchen faucet, first pry off the index plate located on the faucet’s handle using a screwdriver with a flat head. The index plate is a decorative cover underneath which the retaining screw of the faucet is located. Unscrew this screw using a Philips screwdriver to detach the faucet’s handle.

Next, take out the bonnet nut that is located at the top of the unit using a pair of adjustable pliers. Turn the pliers in a counter-clockwise direction. Alternatively, use a basin wrench for this purpose. Now that the faucet is detached, remove it by pulling it upwards and out.
