How Do You Remove Hydraulic Fluid From Clothing?
Remove hydraulic fluid stains from clothing using a laundry pretreatment product, washing the garment in the warmest cycle safe for the fabric, inspecting the garment for complete removal and repeating the process until the stains are gone. The time it takes to complete the process depends on the number of wash cycles required.

Pretreat the stain
Many hydraulic fluids are mineral oil based and create oily stains, so attack the spots as quickly as possible. For best results, spray the stains with a commercially available pretreatment spray according to the label’s directions. If a spray is not available, apply full-strength heavy-duty liquid detergent to the stains. If neither of these products is available, use a paste made from powdered laundry detergent and water.

Wash the clothing
Read the manufacturer’s care label to determine the warmest safe temperature setting for the fabric. Wash at that temperature, using the recommended amount of laundry detergent for a full load. Remove the clothing from the machine, and inspect the garment to see if the stains remain. Do not machine dry until you are certain all of the staining is gone.

If there are any fluid stains remaining, repeat the pretreatment and wash cycle. Continue repeating these steps until all of the stains are gone. Dry the garment using normal procedures.
