When Are the Release Dates for Pennsylvania Inmates?

Those who wish to find out a prisoner’s release date in Pennsylvania may sign up for P.A. Savin, which is the Pennsylvania Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification system. The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections provides information on how to sign up for free on its website. The system is completely confidential and provides current inmate status for offenders in county or state jails, and for offenders under state parole supervision.

According to Pennsylvania Crime Victims, P.A. Savin sends out notifications regarding an offender’s release from state custody, transfer to another facility or escape from custody. Additional notifications are sent out for offenders on parole or in a state prison facility.

Persons using P.A. Savin may register one or more phone numbers and email addresses, notes The Crime Victim’s Center. Phone numbers that go directly to the individual are preferable to an answering service or switchboard. Also, because the system is designed to send notifications through an automated system, it is recommended that users turn off any tools that prevent automatic calls.

Pennsylvania crime victims who want full notification services can register with the Office of the Victim Advocate. The OVA system also allows victims of crimes committed by offenders to express feelings and concerns regarding the release of an offender. Persons registering with these services must be at least 18 years old.
