Under National Federation of State High School Associations (NFSHSA) standards, the regulation height for a girls’ varsity volleyball net is 7 feet 4 and one-eighth inches. The regulation height for a boys’ varsity volleyball net is 8 feet.
Most high schools in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. follow NFSHSA standards for volleyball court and net measurements. Most competitive youth volleyball leagues not affiliated with high schools follow Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) regulations. In terms of net height, NFSHSA and AAU regulations are the same for varsity-age athletes 15 years and older. Boys under 15 play on a net 7 feet 4 and one-eighth inches high, while girls under 13 play on a 7-foot net.
