In a lesson plan, the rationale states the main learning goal for students. It is an essential part of constructivist lesson plans.
In addition to stating the rationale for the lesson plan, teachers must also outline the lesson objectives. These objectives should align with the state-mandated standards. The lesson plan also includes details on how it will help students learn essential topics to meet said standards.
The lesson plan also includes a list of all materials necessary for the lesson. This should include visual aides and technology. In addition, the teachers outline the instructional directions for the lesson plan. Any resources used to create the lesson plan should also be cited.
