When Do Public Pools Usually Open and Close for the Season?
Last Updated Apr 10, 2020 1:19:55 PM ET

It is customary for public pools to open on Memorial Day Weekend and close after Labor Day, but the season may vary according to the local climate. Indoor pools typically remain open throughout the year.
Public pools in northern states may not open until the weather warms up in the middle of June. Likewise, they could close by the end of August. On the other hand, pools in the southern parts of the United States sometimes open in early May and continue operating until the end of September.
For exact opening and closing dates and hours of operation, contact your local pool.
