There is no identified price of gas station kerosene. However, in 2010 the average wholesale cost per gallon of kerosene was $2.63, in 2011 a gallon cost $3.26, and in 2012 a gallon cost $3.43. In 2015 kerosene prices rose close to $4 a gallon.
Kerosene is becoming expensive due to the decline in purchase of kerosene heaters and kerosene oil. As of 2015, sales of kerosene are only a small fraction of what they were several years earlier. Kerosene is used for chemical properties, fire entertainment, heating oil, lamps and jet engine fuel. Kerosene is also called paraffin, lamp oil and fuel oil number one.
