Duluth Trading Company sells its line of clothing at company-owned stores and online at DuluthTrading.com. As of 2015, there are seven retail stores and two outlet stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and South Dakota.
Duluth Trading Company got its start with the Bucket Buddy, an organizer that fits over a standard 5-gallon bucket. In 2002, the company introduced the Longtail T shirt featuring 3 extra inches in length. Advertised as a solution to “defend your back end,” the shirt was a success and emboldened the company to expand its clothing line. Continuing the tradition of tongue-in-cheek advertisements and product names, Duluth Trading recently launched the Buck Naked Underwear product line.
