The Pirelli company is based in Milan, Italy, but it has manufacturing sites in various places around the world, including Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela and the United States. The U.S. site, located in Rome, Ga., opened in March 2003 and was Pirelli’s first American manufacturing site.

As of September 2014, Pirelli was the fifth leading manufacturer of tires in the world, behind Bridgestone, Michelin, Continental and Goodyear. The company sells tires in over 160 countries and has 21 manufacturing sites worldwide. While tires represent 99 percent of Pirelli’s revenue, the company also has a line of high-tech sportswear called Pirelli PZero. Pirelli is the exclusive tire supplier for Formula One Championship racing and a major sponsor of sport competitions since 1907.
