Last Updated Mar 28, 2020 4:23:17 PM ET

There is no specific term for people who collect pens, and most refer to themselves simply as pen collectors. Pen collectors primarily pursue vintage pens, including fountain pens, ink dip pens and ballpoint pens.
In the United States, the Pen Collectors of America organization publishes information on pen collecting in its magazine, which is called The Pennant. It also organizes pen shows throughout the country. Fountain pens are particularly prized by pen collectors, with most vintage fountain pens hailing from between the 1920s to the 1950s. Some collectors also value new pens and collect pens manufactured throughout the world. Pen collectors may also branch out their hobby to collect ink.
